We Gather Together

There is an old hymn that says,

"We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing; He chastens and hastens His will to make known; the wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His name, He forgets not His own."

In this verse, we are reminded of the power of collective prayer and the assurance of divine intervention. When we gather together, seeking the Lord’s blessing, we open ourselves to His guidance and will. The verse highlights a comforting truth: even in times of oppression and distress, the Lord is attentive to His people. He chastens us for our growth and hastens to reveal His plans, ensuring that justice prevails. The call to sing praises to His name is a celebration of His faithfulness and a reminder that He never forgets those who are His own. This verse encourages us to trust in the Lord’s timing and to find solace in His unwavering presence.

As we take some time this week to sit around tables with our families and friends, let us be mindful of that assurance we have that whatever we need, God is able to meet that need. And at just the right time, His divine hand will deliver to us the answer to the questions in our hearts.

Lord, bless us as we gather together this holiday season. Thank you for making your will clear to every one of us. We praise you for who you are and thank you for loving and saving every single one of us. We are incredibly grateful. In Jesus name. Amen
