'Tis the Season
What an incredible way to start the month of December! Tuesday was Giving Tuesday around the world and many people released their generosity in tangible ways to bless ministries and non-profits everywhere. Generosity always begets generosity and it makes me smile whenever I see it in operation. And thanks to many of you, our Giving Tuesday campaign was able to add more resources to complete some pending projects for Cup of Joe. Resources like the e-book version of my latest book CH8NGE? which you can already download on Amazon. I'm also putting together a study guide to go along with this book! You can donate to this campaign until December 13th.
In addition to the success of Giving Tuesday, I had the privilege of being the emcee the Gateway Single Adults Christmas party. I already gave you a sample of some of the cheesy jokes I incorporated into the night. We had several games, my favorite being one where there are 10 items in a Christmas stocking and you have to guess what they are. Everyone enjoyed that one. And then I was able to share a short thought about the power in a name and the fact that God was very specific with what He called the Savior that He would send into this world: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9) This little lesson came from my seasonal book, Christmas Cookies, which I was able to give to every person that came to the party.
Being kind and generous and finding ways to help others will always return those things to you. I love this season because people seem to be more interested in others than they are in themselves. Tidings of great joy not only came through the life of Jesus, it permeates our lives every day as we follow Him. I fully intend to bring out the best in others and myself this holiday season. And I thank you for your prayers and the way you support the work that we do at Cup of Joe. You are such a blessing to me!
