Turtle on a Fence Post

Alex Haley, the author of ROOTS, has a picture in his office, showing a turtle sitting atop a fence. The picture is there to remind him of a lesson he learned long ago: “If you see a turtle on a fence post, you know he had some help.”

We are who we are and where we are because of the people that have been placed in our lives. Often we may think for a time that we rise to the top of the fence post by our works, our time invested and using all of the resources at our disposal but the fact is that we are where we are because of the help we have received. I am thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to take my thoughts and put them into words each day that can encourage people to dream BIG and go higher. In 2007 when I started this daily blog I had no idea that anyone would read it. It’s even become one of the best-selling books that I have had the privilege to write! Cup of Joe exists because the Lord put it inside my heart and it continues because YOU share it every day with me and those that are in your circle of influence. Many of you have told me that you can't really start your day without it! J Thank you for that!
