Show-Teach-Lead

"Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation. On You I wait all the day."

I have always loved reading this part of Psalm 25:4-5 because it shows us the dynamic nature of God’s guidance. It's fluid and ever-changing. These verses also confirm the idea that God will be with us as we walk through the everyday challenges and struggles of this life. He will show us, teach us and lead us. It's a journey that takes each of us a lifetime and even then, we never fully understand all of it.
Show me your ways…reminds us that as we seek Him we find Him. When we ask, we receive and He is glad to reveal a glimpse of His desire for us. The struggle most times for us in seeking God’s guidance is that we have already decided our own way before we ask.
Teach me your paths…implies that there will be lessons along the way. Not only can God provide a look at the road, He also walks beside you as you navigate it and helps you understand the journey.
Lead me in your truth…helps us to remember that the best way to travel is with the Lord in control. We follow, He leads. When you get that right, well, that is when you see more clearly the way and learn more about your path and yourself.
So if you are praying for direction today, take the progressive, dynamic guidance of God. He will show you His ways. He will teach you how to stay on His paths. And He will lead you every step of the way.

The Lord says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." Psalm 32:8
