You Made the Team Part 1

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  COL 3:12-14

Isn’t it an incredible feeling to know that God chose you? When I was a kid and we played games, often there would be times when we would be in a line and be chosen to be part of one of the teams. Standing there and waiting to be picked always made me anxious. When they called my name and chose me, I was very happy. That was just a game. God chose me to be a part of the holy people he loves every day! You and I are on the team! And now that I am on his team, I need to put on my uniform. I need to clothe myself with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. All of these things will not only bring great success for us; we will look good too while we are playing the game of life!

Rest in the understanding today that you are already chosen to be a part of this team. You don’t have to be anxious or concerned that you will be overlooked. You made it! It’s game day. Put on your uniform. Now, get out there and do your best!
