Big Love

Last night I had the privilege to share this very special prayer at an event for a group at our church. The event was built around how much "God Loves Us". Jesus told us that two of the greatest things we could ever learn to do are;

1-to love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength

2-to love your neighbor as yourself.

Fact is, I can only truly love myself when I realize that I was created by a God who loves me, wants the very best for me and will assist me whenever I call upon him. I can't possibly fathom how great His love is for me so I simply accept it by faith until it is rooted and established in my heart.

This simple prayer that Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus I pray for you today. Take a moment before you rush off and read it, letting the Word soak into your inner being.

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all of the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
