Recognize the Good

HEB 5:12-14  For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.  But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
There is alot to be said for having a gift of discernment. To "discern" is to perceive or recognize something. It's a skill set that can be developed by living a righteous life. We make choices everyday and its crucial to see and recognize the difference between right and wrong, what helps us and what hurts us. Often as believers we fall away from godly wisdom and find ourselves in need of "milk" and not solid food. There comes a time when we have to fully mature and move from living on milk to being fed the meat of the Word of God. Too many believers are nursing when they ought to be asking for the steak sauce!
Exercise your senses today so that you can become skilled at discerning the good from the bad. Recognize the good. When you are uncertain about what to do, trust God and let His peace rule your heart.
