Wait Patiently

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set me feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3

I love these verses and the progression and provision they outline. Notice how it starts-“I waited patiently”. Sometimes it's too hard to wait and we take it upon ourselves to jump in and help God move things along. Learning how to wait is important. Let patience do the work! Why? Because the end result is awesome! Here’s what the Word says:

1. He will lift you out of the muck and mire. You won't be stuck anymore because He will loose you and bring you out!

2. He will set your feet on a rock. You will experience sure-footed places and your foundation will be established. No more slipping and stumbling!

3. He will put a new song in your mouth. Praise ushers in the power and provision of God. Your words will change and that will also change your direction.

When you wait patiently, you can be assured that the faith inside of you will start to grow. Your spirit will be strengthened and songs of praise will burst forth. Your chains will be broken and your steps will be secure and ordered by God! Thank Him today for all of this and get ready to not only see your life change- others will put their trust in the Lord too!
