Oh That I Had Wings!
My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me.
Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.
I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove!
I would fly away and be at rest. I would flee far away
and stay in the desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter,
far from the tempest and storm.” Psalm 55:4-8

Many times when I read the psalms I have this feeling that David and I would have been great friends. We seem to connect on many levels and share so many emotions. I am certain that you too have had troubles and difficulties that made you wish you had wings so that you could just fly out of the drama, away from the storm and land in a place of safety.
We don't have wings because we were not designed to fly away but to stay. That's right, to plant your feet firm in His Word, to proclaim His promises and to expect the mountains to move and the enemies to leave. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered!
The only truly safe shelter is to be "in Christ". You get there by praying, by allowing positive thoughts to saturate your mind and by speaking words of faith and power. Someone once said, "you can say what you have or you can have what you say." So hang tough...be strong and very courageous and don't be afraid or discouraged. The storm is almost over!
