How are Your Mondays?
Praise be to the Lord,
for he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
The Lord is the strength of his people,
a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
Save your people and bless your inheritance;
be their shepherd and carry them forever.
(psalm 28:7-9)
For many folks Mondays are not fun days. They force
themselves to get up and make their way to a place they don't want to be and to
do work they don't want to do. Life is too short to live with this kind of
attitude.
I wonder what could happen if you got up with a thankful
heart and said a simple prayer, telling the Lord how grateful you are to even
have a job? I wonder what might occur if you went into the office with an
incredibly positive attitude? What if you actually did all YOU could do
to make the company better and your boss shine? Is any of this even possible?
Personally I believe that you can choose each morning to be
bitter or to get better. I thank the Lord for all He has provided. I thank Him
in the good times and the bad times. I go to the office fully expecting to be
used by the Lord, empowered by His Spirit and to be a blessing to all of those
that I will connect with. It’s not about my strength, its about His strength at
work in me.
God wants to make you smile today. He is your support staff
and your greatest cheerleader. How about starting out this week by being
thankful for all you do have instead of complaining about all that you don't
have? This could be the greatest day…the most amazing week of the year so far
as He blessed you and surrounds you with favor. Couldn’t you stand a bit a GOOD
NEWS? Praying for YOU today!
