Nobodies become Somebodies

"Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of "the brightest and the best" among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these "nobodies" to expose the hollow pretensions of the "somebodies"? That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God. Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, "If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God."" 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 MSG

Nobodies become somebodies when God is in the mix. God is great and greatly to be praised. He takes things that are foolish and uses them to confound the wise. He uses the most unsuspecting people to bring out His life changing principles. I heard someone describe a co-worker once as being "a few fries short of a happy meal". Without God we all are. But with Him we not only have a full happy meal, we even get the toy!!

Today as you start your week just thank God for everything. You may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but you are exactly who He made you to be and He has gifted you! It all comes from Him and has been delivered to you to develop you into the person He designed you to be. Go ahead and blow your horn! Just make certain that you are doing it for Him!
