You Better Watch Out...
You better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why....
17 He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children,t and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.”
And after that amazing news, this was Zech's response:
18 Zechariah said to the angel, “How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.”19 Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!
Now I believe that this is only part of the story. Zech must have gone on and on about how improbable and impossible this was because look at what happened...
20 But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.”
Cause if you keep talking negatively God might just take away your voice! Well that probably won't happen to you but it did to Zechariah. He was listening to the angel of the Lord tell him about the child that he was about to have...a child who would be known as John the Baptist...to be born to his wife Elizabeth who was told she could never have kids. Listen to what the angel says in Luke 1...

What? Silent? Unable to speak? Zech was unable to speak until John was 8 days old! That's a very long time to learn that lesson...you better watch what you say! Are you saying things today that steal, kill and destroy your dreams? How can you be sure that what you want will happen? Honestly you can't. But you can trust the Lord as you wait...making sure that your words match His Word for you. Do your words negate positive life change from happening? Stop crying and pouting about it. Jesus Christ is coming back soon!
