What are YOU saying about YOU?
"Oh, not just one wish. A whole hatful. Mary, I know what I'm going to do tomorrow, and the next day, and next year, and the year after that. I'm shakin' the dust of this crummy little town off my feet and I'm gonna see the world. Italy, Greece, the Parthenon, the Coliseum. Then, I'm comin' back here to go to college and see what they know. And then I'm gonna build things..." --George.
It’s a line out of the most popular Christmas movie of all time, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. I like George’s enthusiasm. I think it’s because I like dreamers and builders. I like being in a room filled with joy and excitement. I prefer to hang out with people that see things others miss.
People today do not seem to get excited about much, especially things that are spiritual. In what is truly the most spiritual time of the year, we need to not curb our enthusiasm...we need to express it.
It starts with our outlook. When was the last morning that you got up and expected things to turn out for your benefit? What kind of things are you saying about yourself? Do you say them to yourself? When was the last time you told yourself, you're awesome? It starts with outlook.
It continues with your uplook. Every good and perfect gift comes from God. When you change the way you see yourself and the way you talk to yourself, you will start to see the way God created you to be. Imagine yourself doing the things He desires today and being with the people He wants you to be with. Let that positive energy begin to rise up in you. Shake off the dust and start praising the Lord! George shook off the dust and became a builder. You can build things too!
