A Pearl of Great Value

Matt 13: 45 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. 46When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!

This scripture comes alive to me today as I think about a special event I attended this week about The Pearl House in Ghana, Africa. Twenty young women are housed there…twenty that would be vulnerable and hopeless in the culture they are growing up in.

The Pearl House is a refuge where girls are loved unconditionally, educated, trained and spiritually prepared to re-enter society as skilled, Ghanaian women. It is currently home to 20 girls from the Northern, Eastern and Volta Regions. They are cared for by two Ghanaian housemothers, a director and some interns. They are enrolled in a private Christian school and are learning about becoming Godly women through their daily lives.

Listening to their stories and seeing a room full of people engage in the project of building the ministry and changing these lives is the Spirit of Christmas personified. Jesus changed lives in Bethlehem and he still changes them today. YOU are a pearl of great value and He gave His life to redeem yours.
