Whole Lotta Shakin!
O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the
earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him? PS 8:1-4 esv
For the last few weeks I have lived within the songs(psalms) in the
middle of my Bible preparing for a series called Summer in the Psalms. I
love reading them, even singing the ones that I know have songs I am familiar
with that go with them. Sometimes I even make up new ones! As I get ready to preach this psalm on Sunday it really landed. I started to shout right after the first line: O Lord, our (MY) Lord,
how MAJESTIC is your name in all the earth!!! When I think about the magnitude
of God’s power, God’s provision and God’s protection I come to the place that
David did…what am I that you are mindful of me?
Let me assure you today that God is indeed mindful of
you…His mind is full of you and what you need to live the life He has designed
you to live. He cares about ALL that is happening right now in your life and
whatever it is, its going to be alright. He has put a new song in your heart.
His praises are upon your lips and you can sing your way right out of the mess
that is trying to silence you! Just like Paul and Silas in prison at the
midnight hour, your song can set you free and cause a whole lotta shakin’ to go
on! Go ahead, read these words today in light of how amazing and how incredibly majestic God is today. And just try not to shout:)
