Wasting Away

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Ever had a time when your mind and heart wanted to do something only to discover that your body was not an active participant in the endeavor? Me too! It really is difficult getting older! I understand this scripture and the wasting away part of my outward appearance. Now I long for more of that inward renewing part. As the Lord strengthens me I am better able to deal with the momentary troubles that are part of the strengthening process.

I do not want to lose heart when I deal with changes in my body and in my life and circumstances. The best way to keep my heart in it is to keep my eyes on Jesus. Where are you looking today? Take heart, be of good courage...your renewing is on the way!
