Love Appropriately

Philippians 1:9-11 So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.

I "love" the way the Message Bible translates this scripture. There is a difference in loving much and loving well. We need to learn how to love appropriately. To love the way Jesus intended.

In order to be sincere and intelligent so that we are genuine in every way we need to use our head and test our feelings. God gave us instincts, an inner witness, that will keep us on track when we pay attention to it. Love is the fruit that springs from the soul of a person that has a real relationship with Jesus. When we love properly we make Jesus attractive to others.

Let's get everyone involved today in the glory and praise of God. Don't you just "love" that?
