Believe, Adhere and Rely

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings Gospel of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. That Spirit is the guarantee of our inheritance the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage, in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring complete possession of it—to the praise of His glory.

The first chapter of Ephesians is one of my favorite books in the Bible. I read it anytime that I start to feel invisible in my life or discouraged. When I feel like I do not matter or my significance account is low, this book always and in all ways cheers me up.

One of the tasty nuggets of truth that you just can't miss comes in verses 13 and 14. If you read this blog then I know that you are one of those that has definitely heard the good news of the Gospel. You know the story of Gods grace and how the gift of salvation is free. And if you read this verse in the Amplified translation, you will see that there is a simple formula for ushering in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in all it's fullness. Once you have heard the Word, you must then believe, adhere and rely on it in your life or should I say with your life. Believe in Him, adhere to what He says, and rely on what He wants to do with your life. This process is so crucial because you cannot be stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit without it. Full redemption, everything's covered, it all awaits YOU!

Jesus sent His Word to heal people. Reading that Word builds and feeds your faith. Learning how to use it marks you for Gods blessing and the promise of the glorious inheritance He has prepared for you. Praise be to a God!
