Fat Blockers
Psalm 92:12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.
While reading this psalm I began to notice a pattern...as far as spiritual things are concerned, I am supposed to get larger. If the good Lord intended for us to flourish and be fatter, what hinders us from putting on the weight and being spiritual heavyweights? Are we using too many "fat blockers"? This week I am going to highlight a different fat blocker each day. Let's consider a fat blocker to be something we may say that keeps us from moving forward in the plan that God has for us. It blocks us from becoming more filled with His spirit and living large:)
Fat Blocker #1: Who am I? Moses was overwhelmed by what God was asking him to do. It seemed impossible to him for God to be able to use his skills, his life. God takes the foolishness of this world to confound the wise. Throughout scripture, it was not always the brightest individuals that were able to be used.(Can I get an Amen!) Perhaps an over-abundance of self-acquired knowledge prohibits us from being more dependent upon God? We MUST know who we are…in Christ. I have been justified by faith…a member of Christs body. I have direct access to God through Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit. I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins…I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! When I know what He says about me, it becomes easier for me to believe that I can do what He tells me to do. I know who I am and I'm all that AND a bag of chips!
