Wide Open Spaces

Proverbs 15:32 An undisciplined, self-willed life is puny;an obedient, God-willed life is spacious.

Wide open spaces...I love to be able to see for miles and miles and enjoy the beauty of Gods creation. My trip last year to the Rocky Mountains was absolutely breathtaking. There is nothing quite like living out in the open and with limited restrictions.

My house is in a cul-de-sac and the backyard looks out through a large open field. You can sit on the patio and see nearly a mile away. It's a beautiful and somewhat relaxing view. However, being in windy Oklahoma, any type of trash or debris in that field often blows into my backyard. It seemed that every day I needed to do maintenance and clean up. Finally, I just decided to have a fence. Now I have no trash abut my morning view is the inside of a wooden fence! Less than spectacular:(

Obedience to God's ways brings us that wide open spacious living. Being I disciplined makes everything feel all fenced in.

Though I enjoy not having to pick up trash everyday thanks to the fence, I miss that wide open spacious view. I'm a live free and led by the Spirit kind of guy.
