Better Watch Out...
Cause if you keep talking negatively God might just take away your voice! Zechariah was listening to the angel of the Lord tell him about the child that he was about to have...to be known as John the Baptist...to be born to his wife Elizabeth who was told she could never have kids. Listen to what the angel says in Luke 1...
17 He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children,t and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.”
And after that amazing news, this was Zech's response:
18 Zechariah said to the angel, “How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.”19 Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!
Now I believe that this is only part of the story. Zech must have gone on and on about how improbable and impossible this was because look at what happened...
20 But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.”
Zech was unable to speak until John was 8 days old! That's a very long time to learn this lesson...you better watch what you say! Are you saying things today that steal, kill and destroy your dreams? Do your words negate positive life change from happening? You better watch out!
