It's beginning to sound and feel a lot like Christmas. When you think about this season what comes to your mind? For many young children its Santa and presents. Snow days from school and the possibility of making snow angels. For others it's time off work and family gatherings. Still others will talk of jingle bells, a red-nose reindeer and pointed eared elves.
When I speak about Christmas I usually speak of the story of Christ found in Luke 2. Angels, praising God and the start of a life that even today turns our lives around seems to make everything else insignificant. It's perfectly natural to enjoy all of the wonderful and cheerful things associated with this season. Just don't forget the reason for joy, peace and love that we enjoy. You can't spell CHRISTmas without CHRIST.
