Joe on the Go
Well my journey has come to its conclusion. For the last two weeks I have gladly taken you on my trip and shared with you thoughts I have had while seeing this great country that God has blessed us with. Joe on the Go traveled nearly 2500 miles through 10 states with some wonderful stops along the way.
The first stop was Nashville where I was able to spend some time remembering my kids growing up there, the birth of my daughter and some amazing times in the contemporary Christian music business. I visited my old neighborhood and even stopped in at my church. It's hard to believe that I left there over 12 years ago! From Nashville I drove the curved roads and lush scenery to North Carolina. I was able to spend several days in Lake Lure with my family at the Rumbling Bald Resort and it was fabulous. The family always has a great time, the food was awesome but the thing I will take away from this years trip is the trophy for winning the family golf tournament! That's right, preacher's got game!
After that it was a stop at my sisters home in South Carolina. She and her husband have created a little slice of heaven right there in Greenville! It was so peaceful and the trip downtown was well worth the time. Jen even made me a great dinner while I was there. God bless the Enten family for a restful stay at their resort!
Then it was off by myself to my favorite north Florida stop, Destin for some beach-walking, people watching and that legendary white sand beach. Staying at the Henderson Park Inn was just what I needed to refill my cup and thank the Lord for all He has done for me and my family.
I must say I have never taken a road trip so extensive(and expensive), nor have I had the time of my life like I did this year. Our country is beautiful and you cannot help but appreciate the Lord for the way He designed it and put it all together. It really was breathtaking! I hope you enjoyed all of the photos I posted on my facebook page and the little videos too! Here's a link if you missed it! Vaya con dios!
