Eye Witnesses
Whenever I want to find out about certain things that occur and what happened, I always look for an eye witness. I am not a big fan of "hear say". When we talk to people that have been there, done that and bought the t-shirt we have a first hand account of the situation. While reading 1 John today I was encouraged by these words...
We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,t whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
The goal of our sharing the things we have seen and heard IN CHRIST is to bring people together around Him so that they can be filled WITH HIM. When we are all together in one mind and with one heart, moving in one direction great things will happen. The New Testament is filled with eye-witness accounts of people that saw and experienced the power of God. May their words fill you with power and hope today!
