Counting Your Blessings

Today I want to encourage you to think positive...to remember the good times and to look for that silver lining in every cloud. When I was a child I would often hear people say to those that were discouraged or worried, count your blessings. There was even a hymn in church that proclaimed "Count your blessings, one by one; and it will surprise you what the Lord has done!" One of my favorite songs from the movie "White Christmas" had the same message. Today as you read the lyrics, stop counting the sheep and try counting your blessings!
 When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
 

I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds
If you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings
