Give Cheerfully

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said,"Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.
Imagine this incredible picture...Jesus sitting in the corner of the church, watching the people as they drop their offerings in the boxes. What? And you thought He did not care about money:)
What's important to Jesus is not what you give as much as it is about your motive and your attitude. We are supposed to be generous on every occasion and the way to do that is to give towards what you need rather than from what you have. You get out of life what you put into it. When you give it comes back to you!
This week when it comes time to be generous and give to your church, think about this verse and remember how important it is to the Lord. Give cheerfully and remember that ALL you have comes from Him. Pray about what you will give and He will confirm it with you. And then you can watch the wonderful harvest that comes back to you as you become a planter.
