A Psalm to Calm
I'm tired of all this-so tired. My bed has been floating forty days and nights On the flood of my tears. My mattress is soaked, soggy with tears.7 The sockets of my eyes are black holes; nearly blind, I squint and grope.
Get out of here, you Devil's crew: at last God has heard my sobs. My requests have all been granted, my prayers are answered. psalm 6:6-9
I love reading the Psalms when I feel a bit overwhelmed and detached. Perhaps it is because David is so transparent and genuine in what he is feeling and when I see what he went through emotionally and spiritually, I gain a bit of confidence for myself.
I have had moments when everything was caving in on all sides but I also know what it feels like to see all of my prayers answered and my requests granted. Life is good, if you embrace what God is up to. Challenges can bring out the best in you if you can allow patience to have her perfect work.
Today, do what David did and tell the Devil's crew to beat it! And let a psalm calm your fears!
