Let Go
It's funny how we become so attached to things in our lives. Our neighborhood is having a garage sale this weekend and as I looked over the inventory that is my collection of "things", I began to recall the history that comes with most of them. As I rummaged about I also found so many items that had no story, served no purpose and even surprised me that they were still in my garage. Boxes that I have moved from place to place without ever opening and utilizing the stuff inside.
I decided that it was time to set some of my "things" free and the memories that they harbored. Time to let go.
I have felt in my heart and in my spirit that this month has a theme and the theme is "it's a new day!" All things are becoming new, in me and around me! In order to make way for the new I have to learn the art of letting go of the old. For me the process begins with a simple garage sale!
What are you holding on to that needs to be released? Imagine that the incredible new vision and dream God has for you is simply waiting for you to clear out some space for it and let go of the past. What things can you let go of? Maybe there is a garage sale in your future!
There are things that we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind. But keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world; it’s the beginning of a new life.
