All I Need
The Lord is MY shepherd, I don't need anything. PS 23:1
All I must have and everything I need is found in one place: relationship with Christ. Joy that cannot be explained, peace that goes beyond what I understand and comfort for my body and soul is only found in Him.
Most of us today are in search of some type of normal and balance in our lives. When things become unbalanced we turn to people, substances and medication to bring balance back. After all of these "natural" things have been exhausted, we realize that when we live for Christ we lack nothing.
We will never understand why bad things happen to good people. We may never know why loved ones were taken before we thought they should go. But we must never forget that THE LORD IS our shepherd. We are His sheep and we can hear His voice. We can trust in Him and know that whatever is happening, has happened or may happen is going to be used in a way to make us stronger, more faithful and successful. So take a deep breath and exhale right now and then read Psalm 23. May His peace and comfort overwhelm you today!
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,t
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
