Wounded

1 Samuel 22:1 David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father's household heard about it, they went down to him there.2 All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him.
David was on the run and trying to escape Saul. His talent, his personality, his character were rubbing Saul the wrong way. All he was doing was living life the best that he knew how and serving his God. I wonder if any of you can relate to the feeling of being ridiculed or resented for simply being yourself and moving forward in faith and power? Years ago when I began The Landing Community Church, I wanted to help people that had been abused or wounded by ministry or ministers. I intentionally went after people that were hurting. Our church is still focused on helping those that others abandon. we champion the underdog. and like David, those that are in distress or in debt or discontented comes and Pastor Joe is their shepherd:)
This morning I began to thank the Lord that I have the opportunity to help others see the love of God again and make their way back into fellowship with other believers. God cares about hurting people. So do I. And you should too!
Maybe you are one of those that has been neglected, abandoned, betrayed or misused. Let me say to you today that you are not discounted and you are not without value where God is concerned. It's time for you to believe what He says about you and move towards what He has called you to do. Make a decision today to start walking in the direction of your dreams. It's time to get back in the game! You may be in distress, in debt or even discontented. As you keep walking forward life is going to change. based on the Word of God and His promises, I can guarantee it:)
