Thinking Straight

Joshua 1:7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
This week we are taking a peak into a COURAGEOUS life. Joshua was now at the helm and readying himself to lead the people into the land that God promised them. Before he would take a step, God would give some specific instructions. Today we pull two of those guidelines out of verse 7. 
Obedience and thinking straight will make you successful. Successful WHEREVER you go! At the office, at home even at church! Too many people get distracted and start allowing their focus to be broken. Looking to the left and the right can cause you to trip up over the path and plan that God has set up for you right in front of you. There are many people who have minds that are all over the map! Obeying the Lord is crucial to finding a successful path and keeping a level head. The Bible tells us that obedience is even more important than sacrifice!
Today, as you read your morning devotions, obey the voice in your spirit that God is trying to awaken. Fix your eyes on the course...straight ahead and just keep walking! Obedience and straightforward thinking lead to a courageous life.
