Affirmation

"A declaration that something exists, or is true." It's the definition of the word AFFIRMATION. Many people today are not living up to their potential because they make the wrong affirmations. Whenever we say "can't" or "won't" or "couldn't" we are declaring those things to be true even though they may not be! The bible tells us to "be transformed by the renewing of your mind". We allow our thoughts to be aligned with what God says. When our mind is clear, then our words should match those thoughts. And the good news is that when the mind is on track and the words line up, the body will follow!
Let me give you a couple positive affirmations to use today. These are things that God says about you and they ARE true.
I am a child of God.
But to all who have received him--those who believe in his name--he has given the right to become God's children … (John 1:12).
I am a friend of Jesus.
I no longer call you slaves, because the slave does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because I have revealed to you everything I heard from my Father (John 15:15).
I have been accepted by Christ.
Receive one another, then, just as Christ also received you, to God's glory (Romans 15:7).
You are a child of God. You are a friend of Jesus. You have been accepted. And when you affirm those things to be true you set yourself up to be in the will...an inheritance that God has sealed by His Holy Spirit for you...eternal life!
Your words will direct your steps. So what affirmations are you making today? What do you declare to be true. Say it again, I am a child of God, I am a friend of God and I am accepted by God!
