Be Happy Where You Are!
1 Timothy 1:12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.
Paul was thankful for a relationship with the Lord and for being afforded the opportunity to work in ministry. Paul was happy where he was. And because he had learned how to make the best out of each and e very situation he was in, God considered him faithful and blessed his life.
Today things are going back to normal. School is back in session here in Tulsa and everyone is going back to work. Unfortunately not everyone will have the attitude that Paul had. If we cannot get "happy" about where we are right now, it's probably a given that you won't be happy anywhere. Oftentimes we think that a change of scenery, a new job or new house will make everything alright. That situational happiness. Our happiness cannot be rooted in things, places, or people. People will change, places will change too and things come and go. Happiness must be tied to something stable...something unchanging.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever! He never changes. So when your situation turns upside down and people have left you all alone, hold on to the unchanging hand of the Lord! Be happy where you are. You are doing what you are doing for a reason. Your choices have brought you to the places and the people that are around you. It is what it is! So do the best you can with what you have right where you are and the Lord will move you into things that match the desires of your heart.
Go ahead and say it..."I thank Christ Jesus, My Lord, who gives me strength and considers me faithful, putting me in this place where I can minister to others!"
