This is the Confidence We Have

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Confidence...it's something that each and every one of us needs to develop in our lives. Someone once said that it was the feeling you have before you understand the situation. Another definition describes it as self-assurance that comes from having faith in our own abilities. Confidence is not arrogance. Arrogance is confidence without reason and wisdom. Arrogance causes you to be separated from others. Confidence draws you into the pack. Confidence in God helps you be all that you were meant to be in the midst of others.

The scripture says that we are to approach God with confidence...with a firm trust. That comes because we know that He is reliable and trustworthy. We communicate in this manner with Him because it is how we receive mercy and grace when we need it the most. It requires us to know who we are and why we are here on the planet. The reason many lack confidence today is because they are uncertain: about life, about family, about work and about themselves.

You were created to do good things for God with your life. You were born with natural and supernatural ability. You are in the place you are in today because of your character, your personality and your God-given skill-set. Now, it's time to use them all for the glory of God and watch the world open up before you. Today you can approach God with confidence because you know that He loves you and wants the very best for you. Hebrews 10:35 warns us to not "throw away our confidence" for in the end it will be richly rewarded. You can pray with boldness. You can do the job set before you with favor and God's power when you allow confidence to rise up inside. Are you ready to see some great things happen? Do you need some help in your time of need? Then don't forget this last word from the Lord...

1 John 5:14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him
