Get Out of the Way!

Yesterday our youth pastor brought a refreshing reminder to our church: that you may be the one thing in the way of getting what God has planned for your life. I began to think of all of those times that I thought I was doing the right things and saying the right words. Yet, my prayers were not being answered. And then I realized that I was doing things the way I wanted but never asking God what He wanted! I was standing in the way of my future: the one that God had planned for me!

Maybe you are confused and feel like things are not happening the way you thought they would. Maybe you don't understand how God works. It's ok! I seem to remember many apostles, men of faith that even wrote letters in the Bible that never understood what Jesus was saying through His entire ministry time on earth! So we are in good company.

Today, let you Spirit take control of your steps and your words and let God take you where He wants. It will be the best place you could be and you will be the happiest you've ever been! Don't be your own worst enemy! Get out of the way!
