Working Happy
Ecclesiastes 5:18
Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him—for this is his lot. 19 Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work—this is a gift of God. 20 He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.
I was thinking about my job and how I feel about it. I have to say that I am not always happy nor grateful for what I have been given. I need to be better. This scripture tells me that God gave me the work that I do and the ability to "enjoy" that work. It talks of accepting the facts and being happy in them for this job is a gift from God. I don't think about negative things because my heart is filled to overflowing with gladness.
If you have a job right now, there is no better time to thank the Lord and be happy about it. You should be the best employee in the company...showing up early and leaving after everyone else. And remember, it's not the hours you put in but what you put in the hours.
For the many Americans that are not working right now, keep your chin up and keep praying. God is able to give you wealth and possessions and this may be the day that everything turns around for you. Stay faithful, keep giving your best, and God will take care of everything else!
