Train Through the Pain

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
(Hebrews 12:11-13)

Nobody likes pain. Yet many people are in situations that are very uncomfortable and they are feeling the pain. The Marines say that "pain is weakness leaving the body". That could be true but even if you believe that, it still hurts while it is leaving! When we are able to endure a season of "chastening" which really means divine correction, we will find peaceable fruit of righteousness on the other side. But that fruit only shows up for those that have TRAINED through the PAIN.

There are lessons to learn in the midst of pain. When our bodies ache, they are telling us something. When your heart hurts, it is trying to get your attention. We need to train through the pain. How do we do that? Just read on...strengthen the hands that hang down(get your arms up), strengthen your feeble knees and make straight paths for your feet. In other words stop swaying to the right and to the left. As you do this God will heal the pain and you will gain ground in your journey with Christ.
Lance Armstrong said “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”

Don't quit. You can do this. Train through the pain!
