WatchYour Mouth!

I am certain that those very words were uttered by my parents at some point in my life. It was probably because the things I was saying were not good. The older I get the more I realize how important words are. God has equipped you and me with some wonderful tools to enhance the life of those around us. Did you realize that you have the power today to either lift someone up and make them feel better or send them spiraling downward? Words can be weapons. People die because they were spoken to in the wrong manner. Maybe we should have a big sign by our door that we read every morning before we leave which says..."watch your mouth!".
Proverbs 25:11 says, "A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." It means that when words are spoken at the right time and in the proper way, they can add value and beauty to the one hearing them. If "faith comes by hearing" why is it hard to see that so does doubt and so can pain?
This is the season of advent and people are searching for life, happiness, stability and joy. Why not use that little tool between your nose and chin to make someone day? Arrange your words properly and ask God for the timing. Ephesians 4:29 tells us to not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths but only what is helpful to building up others. Let others benefit from listening to you today. Watch your mouth!
