Memories...or loss of

I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.

Can you relate to that quote? I sure can. I have developed this habit of writing things down. Dr. Ed Cole used to tell us that "on the paper, off the mind" is the way it goes. For me it was more like on the paper, never mind! I can see the paper that I wrote that note on and I can see the way I wrote it...I just can't find the paper. In Tulsa, there are at least a dozen of my lists that have found their way to a drain, a sidewalk or maybe another person's trash. There is no greater feeling of helplessness than to get to the grocery store and not be able to find your list. Now I put those things in my phone. I have it all the time right? Well, the other day I misplaced my phone. The good news is that you can call it. The bad news is that mine was on vibrate so I spent thirty minutes "feeling" the furniture for that vibration!

The bible tells us that the memory of the righteous will be blessed. Perhaps God was primarily talking about the real things that matter. Forgetfulness is the dominant trait for mistakes and terrible things from the past and yes, my grocery lists! But the things that we are moving towards, our dreams and our visions are blessed as we always remember where we are going and who we are going towards. Remember what Christ has already done for each one of us. He is the reason that we are breathing today and moving in the circles that we are running in. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father...our heavenly Father and He desires the very best for you and for me. He will bring scriptures that you have read back to your memory when you need them. He will cause you to know how to decide when you must choose a way.

So don't fret when you forget! Let me speak that Word to you again...the MEMORY of the righteous is blessed! Proverbs 10:7
